my kickass weekend

A friend of mine from work has parents that own an awesome beach house in Malibu. It is usually rented to out of town guests, but every once in awhile there is a weekend that nobody has booked it and he goes up there with his wife. This past weekend was one of those, and B and I were lucky enough to get invited! My friend's wife, Patti, had invited some of her work friends, so I got to be J's work friend.

The house overlooks the beach in Malibu and the view is gorgeous. The house is really cute because it was rebuilt in the '70's (it burned down and was re-done), so it has this awesome wallpaper and is technically two double wide trailers that are connected internally. It is way less ghetto than that sounds. B and I drove up Saturday afternoon and we spent the rest of the day flying kites, playing fetch with Gypsy (who was having a blast), eating, playing Pictionary (my team won!) and drinking. There were 9 of us that spent the night, so it was a pretty good sized party.

View from the balcony
One of the other people there owned an awesome video camera and took some cool footage of us flying kites. He promised to make a video of it. I kind of wanted to steal it and make a video of my own, but I'm sure he'll do a much better job.

gypsy being cute as always

My favorite part of the weekend was that my friend, J, had brought his homemade potato cannon! It was so cool! I really didn't think it would be so much fun. You shove a potato into the top and shove it down, spray some hairspray in, close the back end and shoot! I'm not normally a gun person, but the fact that it involved potatoes and hairspray made it super fun. It made this really cool but quiet thuuuunk noise when it shot. We got to shoot if off the balcony into the ocean. How cool is that?!

One order of french fries, coming up!
my two loves
It was such a fun weekend and B and I were both sad to leave. Hopefully we were nice enough house guests to get invited back. It was so fun walking the beach, collecting seashells and just hanging out talking shit to each other. Plus games. I love games.

Thanks again for an awesome weekend J and Patti!

    1. Thanks Lisa!! I love that picture of Gypsy too! Even though it resulted in her stuffing her sandy nose in my cleavage because I was squatting down to take it :)
