a picture of my tattoos because i'm sure you want to see them

Yep, those are my tattoos. I tried to photoshop my muffin top, but didn't have the patience. I know they're not super inspiring or anything, but I like them. I do have plans to add to the stars on my side, but tattoos are expensive.

The one on my wrist I got when I was 18 with my friend Mary. I had been wanting a tattoo for years, but my dad would never have given me permission. In fact, he said if I got a tattoo he would wouldn't pay for college. But when you're an 18 year old asshole like me you do things like get a tattoo on your wrist where you can hide it with the bracelets you wear because when I was 18 wearing tons of bracelets was the coolest. Or something. Anyway, my friend Mary has the same tattoo except hers is red on the inside and black on the outside.

The ones on my side were actually a two part process. There are five up top that I got when I was 19 and they hid easily under my bra. Then a year later I decided I loved them so much I would get more. So I did.

The one on my wrist didn't hurt as much as the ones on the side. B has a huge tattoo on his side (don't worry, I'll show you) and I'm sure it hurt like a mother. The weird thing about tattoos is that they are so addicting. I don't know why, but almost everyone I know that has tattoos says the same thing. Even now, looking at this picture, I'm like man I can't wait to get more tattoos.

So spill it-do you have any tattoos?

  1. How long until you told your dad?

I don't have any. So many people at my high school had stupid-looking tattoos it spoiled it for me. Seriously. One girl on my basketball team had one of those yellow happyface/smile (you know the guy) but he was, like, high and had fangs with blood dribbling off of them.
A boy on my tennis team had a child dressed in cowboy suit, but with devil horns, and it said something like little devil or something like that above it. Everyone got them when they were drunk or something, so they weren't cool.
My sister got one, plumeria flowers (which I love) but she got it right on her back-bacon which grew considerably over the years.

I like stars though. And you totally don't have muffin top!

    1. I told him two years ago. He was not happy....

Oh gross! No wonder they ruined it for you. I totally understand not wanting them after seeing those. I grew up in a smallish town so there were not very many people with tattoos. I'm guessing it was a typo, but I love that you said back-bacon!

      Thanks! :)

    2. Wait, do people not say back-bacon? Back fat is to humiliating to admit to having.

    3. Ohhh I thought you were trying to say back bone and it auto corrected. I have never heard back bacon! But I LOVE it! Way better than saying back fat :)

  3. OMG...if that's a muffin top then I'm in big trouble.
I love that you and your friend have the same tattoo but opposite colors!

I don't have any tattoos. I'm too scared. I have heard they are addicting! Everyone I know with one is always waiting for the next! Maybe that's another reason for me to never start because I know they are expensive!! :)

    1. Thanks! You're so nice :)

They are super addicting! They don't hurt as bad as you'd think. Well, I guess it depends on where you get it, ha.

I see pictures of tattoos gone wrong, it's horrible. But yours are awesome! The stars down your side looks pretty, almost magical :)

  5. New reader here. I agree, there's no muffin top there.

I have 3 tattoos, a Fleur-de-lis inspired star between the bottom of my shoulder blades. Purple music notes & treble clef around my left ankle. My favorite is my chinchilla's footprints on the back of my left shoulder. It's his shoulder, that's where he likes to hang out. I'm so tempted to get a portrait of my little furry soul mate, but I'm trying to hold off for a while.

  6. I love stars! I'll bet the ones up your side hurt -- and if it were me, it'd probably tickle at the same time. The artist would have hated me. Of course I have a lot of padding on my side now, so maybe it wouldn't hurt as bad. Ha! They look great!

    1. There were definitely some spots where it tickled! The artist was actually really nice about it because he understood. There was one spot that hurt so bad I was flinching but couldn't control it, so he just went really fast and then gave me a break afterward.

  7. I have no tattoos and I'm jealous of everyone who does. When I graduated from high school it was still a really big deal to get a tattoo, so I never seriously considered one. I would do it now, except my husband HATES them. He says he's creeped out by idea of ink in skin. (Weirdo.) I really want to get one that's a quote from one of our wedding readings, but I don't know where to put it that it won't be stretched out/gross when I'm older.

    1. That is totally weird! I guess I kind of understand, but it's not THAT bad to have ink in your skin....

That would be so cool! Maybe on your arm somewhere? Or is that too visible?
