What I am trying to say is do you guys have awesome skin secrets like lotions or face products that you recommend for dry faceness?
Please don't recommend lotion that makes my hands greasy afterward because nothing makes me more ragey than putting on lotion and then touching my keyboard at work and leaving handprints. Gross.
Also, while we are on the subject of winter, let me just say that one thing I am loving about Los Angeles winter is not shocking myself every fucking time I touch anything. Two years ago when I had winter in Colorado I got shocked every.time.I.turned.off.the.lights. Seriously. And every time I touched my car, or another person, or a doorknob. Grrrrrrr. Apparently you are not supposed to wear shoes with rubber soles on them in winter because that makes the shocking worse.
And I am in no way admitting that I used to sometimes wear crocs with socks in the wintertime even though I know that crocs are ugly (yet comfortable). I gave my crocs away, so we can still be friends. Right?
Side note: I know that you have requested pictures of my tattoos and I swears I'm working on it, but they are in places that may or may not look like I'm trying to pose for a nudey magazine and I haven't gotten around to it yet. Sorry. I promise I'll show them.
But back to skin: favorite lotion/skin stuff? Please help. I feel dirty even though I showered, and not dirty in like a I have sex head (or as my friend calls it, fuck knots) kind of way, but dirty like I drank whiskey all day and ate greasy pizza dipped in melted butter followed by 7000 Twinkies. Which I did not do. Yet.

| Yes, my hair is a different color. Not quite as orangey as this picture. I will show you that too, along with my tattoos. |
From my dry greasy skin to your beautiful shiny skin,
tara

We use Cetaphil lotion...not the cream...the lotion. It helps and doesn't leave us greasy. (but I tend to put it on the back of both of my hands then rub the backs of my hands together so my palms don't get too greasy.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea-rubbing the back of your hands together. Thanks!
DeleteI'd see a doctor. It could be eczema, especially if you're experiencing it in LA. It sounds grosser than it really is, but that's because I have it, too. My doc recommended CeraVe, which I love. It has no smell and it's not greasy. It has also done wonders for my face, seriously. My skin is way more supple.
ReplyDeleteIf that doesn't help, you may need a corticosteriod cream, which is usually prescription. Make sure you ask for cream not ointment. I hope this helps.
I don't think it's eczema, but I will look into it.
DeleteThanks for the info!
I have dry skin. All. The. Time.
ReplyDeleteI have been using Garnier light (gentle) moisturiser for a long time. It works for me :)
Oooh okay thanks!
DeleteThat sandman blowdrying his sand hair cracked me up. Still laughing!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteFirst of all, "drier than a fucking desert sandman blowdrying his sand hair" is the best thing I've heard all day.
ReplyDeleteYou pretty much have my summer-skin situation. (Dry and greasy at the same time.) You need an oil-free, water-based moisturizer for your face. Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is a gel-formula that's kind of pricey but totally worth it. For your body, try something water or aloe-based like Jason Aloe Vera. I would stay away from Cetaphil or Eucerin, which are mineral oil based, grease city. Hope this helps!
Hahah thanks! I was so sad you were gone because I knew you'd have some good advice!
ReplyDeleteI will check out the gel-formula! I hate grease city lotion. It makes me so mad!
